Did you miss the ballot for the London Marathon? Don't worry - we are delighted to have secured 5 places in this event for the next five years. These highly sought after places may be secured for the April 17th 2011 race by a £50 deposit in the first instance; the balance of £250 to be paid by 3rd April 2011 and a commitment to raise £1200 for the work of POWER through personal sponsorship. Mini-Christmas Fair 13th November
Our fair was held in the house of a very kind supporter, Liz Gordon, at The Old Post Office, Lewknor, OX49 5TH. We raised a total of £210. Thank you to all who supported us! It is most appreciated!
The British 10km London Run: 11th July 2010
7 people entered the British 10km London Run in support of POWER. Many thanks to all who took part. The money is still coming in and we will announce thre final results of this event shortly. See the article in our Latest News tab. (july 2010)
Collegium Regale - March 22nd
We were delighted to welcome back the Collegium Regale to St Mary's Church, Henley-on-Thames. The talented choral scholars of King's College, Cambridge were introduced by John Howell, MP of Henley-on-Thames. They gave a wonderful performance of a range of music and nearly £300 was raised.
Christmas Mini-Fair - 14th November 2008, 10am -4pm
Many thanks to everyone who came to our Christmas mini-fair - a total of £425 was raised. Especial thanks go to Liz Gordon for opening her home and hosting the event for us.
Pub Quiz at the Red Lion at Brightwell-cum- Sotwell - October 27th, 7pm
Our second pub quiz of the year was held on Monday October 27th. We were well supported and raised a total of £283! This is a wonderful amount - thanks to all who participated and bought raffle tickets. Many thanks also go to two local stores : Boots the Chemist and Starbucks in the Eden Centre at High Wycombe who generously donated raffle prizes.
Winners of Charity Golf Team Challenge 2008 - MR Salvage LLP!
Our second golf team challenge took place on Friday 9th May where the sun and competition was fierce. The winning team, MR Salvage LLP, was presented with the POWER Trophy which they will keep until the next challenge. Team members – Martin Salvage, Ron Burnett, Geoff Sutton and John Taylor - were delighted with their success.
Around £2000 was raised for the work of POWER - many thanks for all who attended.
