Did you miss the ballot for the London Marathon? Don't worry - we are delighted to have secured 5 places in this event for the next five years. These highly sought after places may be secured for the April 17th 2011 race by a £50 deposit in the first instance; the balance of £250 to be paid by 3rd April 2011 and a commitment to raise £1200 for the work of POWER through personal sponsorship. Thanks so much to everyone who has been supporting us! Here are some of the ways they have been doing it.....
The Asics British 10k London Run 2010
This year we had 7 intrepid runners, Mark, Marcus, Jamie, Sam, Dan, Yvette and Deirdre. As I write Marcus has claimed the quickest run with 42 mins 25 secs! But well done to all of you for taking this challenge and raising funds for POWER! You are all wonderful. At the moment our happy runners have raised over £2000 for us, but more is coming in every day. We are so proud of you all! And extremely grateful! Marcus told me :
“The 10k run was fantastic - a great route through the centre of London, lots of enthusiastic support and knowing I was running it for a good cause helped spur me on to my impressive time of 42 minutes 25 seconds!"

We have been granted (after a very long time on the waiting list!) 5 places in the Virgin London Marathon!! So starting next year we need really committed people to run for us and raise OODLES of sponsorship! Could that be you?? Call me if you are interested! What an opportunity!!
