Sarah Hodge (CEO) Sarah studied politics and history at university, specialising in South-East Asia. Her interest and concern for conflict consequences was cemented by her marriage to a cameraman who filmed a documentary in Vietnam and who lost a friend to a landmine accident - this in Africa. She later trained as an accountant and combines her professional skills and ideological concerns in her work at POWER.

John Ferchak (advisor) John has a PhD in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University, USA. He was for many years with the Quaker Service, first in
Cidia Monterio Sultuane (Country Manager) Cidia has been working with POWER since 2004 and has been responsible for growing our radio club work so successfully. She also runs courses for POWER in gender issues, journalism and organisational development. She studied psycholgy and pedagogy at university. Prior to working with POWER she worked for Radio Mozambique and Fórum Mulher, a network of organisations and institutions which work on behalf of women.

Robin Heal OBE Robin trained as an accountant and economist, and spent a 35 year career in BP during which he set up the company's international Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which he managed for a 14 year period before moving to work full time within the voluntary sector on governance and international development. He was a founder member of Business in the Community and the European Business Network, and has acted as an adviser to a number of international organisations in the field of community regeneration and development. Richard Butler (acting chair) Richard spent his working life with De Beers, the South African mining and industrial conglomerate. He has worked in many African countries and developed an intimate knowledge of their economic, cultural, natural and political environments. He retired in 1998 and offered his services, as a volunteer, to POWER, subsequently becoming a Trustee in 2002.

Gail Wellings Gail - herself an amputee, who has set up two amputee support groups in this country and who is fortunate enough to be in full time employment – is especially interested in quality of life and self-respect for fellow amputees. This is particularly the case in countries where those with disabilities are so poorly regarded.
Ken Bore Ken read History at Trinity College Cambridge, then gained an MSc (Econ) in African Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Pursuing a career in education, Ken has had over 35 years experience in schools, as adviser to national and local government, as CEO of two national charities and latterly as Director of Education and Children’s Services for an international consultancy company. Committed to supporting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, Ken has successively been an Education Officer with the Royal National Institute of the Blind, CEO of a national organisation dedicated to helping people with disabilities live independent lives in their own homes, and Director of the National Association for Gifted Children. Ken has published in national journals and has substantial media experience.
